David W. Brunner, age 79, of Murfreesboro, TN, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2014. A native of Nashville, TN he was the son of the late Frank Agnes Brunner and Jessie Loraine Shotwell Brunner. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:00PM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with military honors. Brother Greg Vick will officiate. Mr. Brunner is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy "Dot" Toseland Brunner; children, David C. Brunner and his wife Sandra of McEwen, TN; Marian C. Travis and her husband James of Rockvale; Hollie Michelle Brunner Tollett and her husband Gary of Nolensville; Michael Gene Burnett of Chapel Hill, TN; Kimberly Chaffin Reed and her husband Tim; and Daniel Lee Brunner and his wife Kelly of Murfreesboro; two sisters, Sandra Brunner and Betty June Pope both of Murfreesboro; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mr. Brunner was a member of Stewarts Creek Church of Christ. He was a retired pilot with the United States Air Force having served in the Vietnam War. Mr. Brunner was a member of the Boy Scouts where he served for over 45 years and worked closely with troop # 204, #225 and #398. Memorials can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at 223 Rosa L. Parks Avenue, Suite 301 Nashville, Tennessee 37203. Visitation will be Tuesday from 7:00PM to 9:00PM and Wednesday from 11:00AM to 1:00PM all at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
