David Randolph Brown, age 86 of Murfreesboro died Thursday December 12, 2024. He was a native of Chambers County, Alabama and was preceded in death by his parents,  Floyd Lester Brown, and  Jesse Edna Simmons Brown; siblings, William Oliver Brown and  Andrea Brown Hays.

Mr. Brown was a Retired Colonel with the United States Army. He served in the Vietnam and was awarded the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart, Vietnam Service Medal w/1 Silver Star. Throughout his military career, Mr. Brown worked in various positions including Military Assistant to the Assistant Secretary of Defense in the Reagan Administration. After retiring from the Army, he worked in sales with Sikorsky Aircraft.  Mr. Brown was a member of Impact Church in Kingston, TN.

He loved Auburn, he went there for 3 years and then finished his Bachelor's degree in Military science from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 1968 and a Master's degree from MTSU in Sociology in 1973.

He is survived by his children, David Brown, Jr, Andy Brown and wife Heather, Michelle Jones and husband Connan; grandchildren; Jeremy Brown, Hayley Brown, Phillip Brown, Forrest(Jordan) Brown, Garrett(Mary Margarete)Jones, Alex(Sydney) Jones, Walter (Jaylie)Jones; great grandchildren;

Mason Brown, Anslee Brown, Noah Brown, and Annabelle Jones. He is also survived by nieces and nephews Havilande(Jim) Whitcomb, Alexia(Eddie)Deauterive, Mark(Glenn)Smith, Sharon(Charles) Copenhaver, Valeri(Vint)Carpenter.

Visitation will be Monday December 16th 11:00AM until 1:00PM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral service Monday December 16th 1:00PM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Rodney Burnett will officiate. Private burial with Military Honors at a later date. www.woodfinchapel.com
