Joe David Anderson, Sr, age 77 of LaVergne, died Thursday at his home surrounded by his family. He was a native of Davidson County and a son of the late Burch and Frances Cone Anderson, Sr.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Jo Ann Anderson; their children, Beverly Gourlay and husband Ian of Hillsboro, Joe Anderson, Jr. and wife Stephanie of LaVergne, Lori Hughes and husband Dale of Douglasville, GA, and Diane Crosier and husband Steve of Franklin; grandchildren, Jonathan Anderson, Sara Lewis, Katy Gish, Hunter Anderson, Hayley Crosier, Brooks Crosier; three great grandchildren, Ryleigh, Raegan, and Rhiannon; a brother, Burch Anderson, Jr.; and sisters, Barbara Rowlett and Christine Staples.

Mr. Anderson was a highly respected member of the Jefferson Pike Church of Christ at LaVergne where he served as a Deacon. He was a skilled tool and die maker and successful businessman owning Anderson Specialty until retirement.

Visitation will be Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of memorial services beginning at 4:00 p.m. at the Jefferson Pike church of Christ at LaVergne. Bro. Jimmy Carver will officiate.
