Darwin Roy Griva, age 82, passed away on Monday, September 12, 2016. He was a native of Benld, IL and the son of the late Darwin and Byrl Wolfe Griva. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Arlene June Kelly Griva, a son, Donald Roy Griva, and brother-in-law, John Kelly.

Funeral service will be 11:00am Friday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.

He is survived by his son, Darwin (Jennifer) Griva of Murfreesboro, daughters, Debra (Keith) Shults of Nolensville, Denise Griva of Murfreesboro, grandson, Darwin "Bear" Griva, granddaughters, Amanda (Max) Donaldson and Ashley Shults, two great grandchildren, Alaina Griva and Charles Donaldson, his brother, Charles (Carol) Griva and in-laws, Ellen Clemonds, Doris Donaldson, Freida Malloy, Edna Audi, Betty Heck, Marge Taylor, Joe Kelly, Bill Kelly, Jim Kelly, and Mary Lou Jubelt, all of Illinois.

Mr. Griva was born on May 23, 1934. He was a 1952 graduate of Benld High School. He graduated with a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois and began a career with Emerson Electric Company in St. Louis, MO. He joined Chromalox in Murfreesboro in 1969, promoted to Vice President and General Manager in 1973. He attended World Outreach Church in Murfreesboro. After retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his family, all things grandchildren, his farm in Milton, duck hunting and St. Louis Cardinals baseball.

He will be missed by many, but leaves behind a legacy of family, hard work, honesty and love.
