Darrell "Heavy D" Thacker, age 58 of Smyrna, died at his home Thursday surrounded by family. He was born in Cook County, Illinois and raised near Gary and Hammond, Indiana. Darrell had lived in Tennessee since 1996 and was a son of the late Jimmie and Agnes Thacker.

Survivors include his wife, Daphne Thacker; daughters, Andra and Kylie Thacker, and Heather Ferguson; grandchildren, Dakota, Jayden and Aubrey; and a host of other loving family and friends.
