Daniel P. Smith, age 77 of Lavergne, TN, passed away Friday May 8, 2015. A native of Ohio County, West Virginia, he was the son of the late J. O. Curtis Smith and Thelma Dean Miller Smith. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Dora Smith who died in 2014. Mr. Smith is survived by his children, Sara Beth Smith of Durham, NC, Julia Anne Spicer of LaVergne, TN, Katie Renee Delgaado of Clarksville, IN, and Bryan Stankoff of Bradyville, TN; brother, David Smith of Washington, PA; grandchildren, Christie Massingill, Cathy Massingill, and Kyndi Strunk; and the mother of his children, Bonnie Smith of LaVergne, TN. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM Saturday May 16, 2015 at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna with the service to follow at 7:00 PM. Joseph Short will officiate. Burial will follow in the West Alexander Cemetery in West Alexander, PA. Mr. Smith was a member of Philadelphia Church of God, and a self-employed carpenter.
