DANIEL FRANKLIN OVERBY, age 59 of Murfreesboro died Saturday December 12, 2009. He was a native of Leaksville North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Franklin and Eva Hawkins Overby; foster parents, Joe Tomlinson, Sr. and Frances Tomlinson; brother, Joe H. Tomlinson, Jr.; sister, Frances Overby. He was a member of Central Christian Church and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. He was a graduate of MTSU Nursing School and retired from Alvin C. York Veterans Hospital as an EKG Tech and Respiratory Therapist. He was a member of the Sons of the Confederacy. Funeral service will be 1:00PM Thursday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Rev. Steve Odom officiating. Entombment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens with full military rites. He is survived by his daughter, Amy Overby Simpson and her husband, Chris Simpson; grandchildren, Parker, Peyton, and Madelyn Simpson; sisters, Catherine Tomlinson Taylor, and Pat Tomlinson McKnight all of Murfreesboro and several nieces and nephews.
