Daniel E. Smith, age 60, of Murfreesboro, TN passed away on July 19, 2012 at his residence. A native of Pontiac, MI he was preceded in death by his mother Mildred Clardy. He was also preceded in death by his brother Brian Smith. Mr. Smith is survived by his wife of 31 years Lori Smith of Murfreesboro; son, Jeffrey Smith of MI; goddaughter, Sarah Wilson of MI; granddaughter, Audrey Grace Wilson of MI; brothers, David Smith of TN and Scott Stabenow of AZ; sisters, Rachel Mullins of MI and Callie Hernandez of CA; several nieces and nephews and loving in-laws. A memorial service will be held Monday, July 30th 2012 at 3:00PM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with military honors to follow. Bishop Christopher Johnson Sr. will officiate. Visitation with the family will begin one hour prior to service. Mr. Smith served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was an avid hunter and shared a passion for photography. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the American Diabetes Associations Tour de Cure (tour.diabetes.org).
