Dangereuse "Charlona" Morgan Smith-Bryan
, of LaVergne, TN, went home to be with the Lord on Monday November 30, 2015 after a brief illness. Dangereuse was born in Kingsport, TN, but her family moved to Delaware when she was 16. As an adult, she returned to Nashville to pursue her music career while simultaneously working as a paralegal and raising her son. Dangereuse was a gifted writer, and her music career included writing for Merle Haggard and The Oak Ridge Boys, as well as others. She also wrote published short stories, and was a talented screenplay writer.
There were two defining characteristics of Dangereuse's life: her love for her family and her love for her Lord. These two things embodied who she was and how she lived. It brought her no greater joy than to visit with family or tell others her "Jesus stories"-- stories about miracles that occurred in her own life and encouraging others that they, too, can have a personal relationship with the Lord.
Dangereuse was preceded in death by her parents, Charles L. Bailey of Rogersville, TN, and Iona Carolyn Salyer Bailey Freeman of Tazewell, Virginia. Dangereuse is survived by her husband of almost 15 years, Lee Smith-Bryan; her son, Richard Jacobson and his wife, Beth of Murfreesboro, TN; her three grandchildren, Joseph, Ariel, and Joshua. She is also survived by her sisters, Carol Burns and her husband Jim, Danna Recce and her husband David, and brother, Charles Bailey and his wife, Rena, all of Wilmington, Delaware, as well as her many nieces and nephews who loved "Aunt Nonnie" dearly.
A memorial service for Dangereuse will be held at Woodfin Funeral Chapel. Smyrna on Saturday December 5, 2015 at 5:30 pm. Eulogy will be given by Richard and Beth Jacobson. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at a later date.
