Damon "Red" Layne, Jr., age 79 of Lascassas died Tuesday November 26, 2024. He was a native of Pineville, Kentucky and was preceded in death by his parents, Damon Layne, Sr., and Kathlene Johnson Lane.

Mr. Layne was a Christian and retired from General Motors. He was an avid Nascar fan.

Mr. Layne  is survived by his wife, Phyllis Jean Tyler; children, William LeVaughn Layne, and Tonya Asher and husband Bryon; grandchildren, Bryon David Asher and wife Whitney, Dillon Asher, Justin Layne , Christopher Layne, Jasmine Layne; 5 great-grandchildren; stepchildren,  Tobey D. Busby, Chris Busby and wife Lori  Anna Marie Cox and husband Tony; brother, Bill Layne and wife Debbie, Lynn Layne, Terry Layne; Sisters; Jean Bekue and husband Dale, Pamela Johnson.

Visitation will be Sunday December 1st 2:00PM to 4:00PM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be Sunday December 1st 4:00PM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Cremation to follow the service. www.woodfinchapel.com
