Nanay Corazon "Sonnie" D. Vergel de Dios, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 10, 2014. A native of Malolos Bulacan in the Philippines, she was the daughter of Manuel and Carmen Javier Dolores. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Ildefonso T. Vergel de Dios; and children, Rodelio and Benedicto Vergel de Dios, and Irma Razon. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday at 2:00PM at St. Luke Catholic Church. Father Jacob Dio will officiate. Mrs. Vergel de Dios, is survived by her daughters, Ofelia "Opel" Roberts and her husband Dean of Smyrna, Dolly Coffman and her husband Greg of Gassaway, WV, and Leny Vergel de Dios of Smyrna; son, Jojo Vergel de Dios and his wife Femia of the Philippines; daughter-in-law, Aileen Vergel de Dios of Smyrna; and son-in-law, Tony Razon of the Philippines; two sisters; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Mrs. Vergel de Dios was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church. She was a retired teacher in the public school system in the Philippines. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00PM to 8:00PM at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna with a Rosary Service taking place at 7:00PM. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Woodfin Chapel Smyrna.
