Coleman Griffin Reeves, age 85, of Murfreesboro died Sunday, February 8, 2015. He was a native of Evergreen, AL and the son of the late Thomas F. and Lillie Griffin Reeves. He was also preceded in death by three sisters and seven brothers. Visitation will be Thursday from 10:00am until time of funeral service at 11:00am at First Baptist Church. Pastor Noel Schoonmaker and Pam Pilote will officiate. Committal service will be 2:00pm Thursday with full military honors at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Pegram, TN. Mr. Reeves is survived by his wife of 60 years, Frances Snow Reeves, sons, Reginald Reeves and his wife Janice of Murfreesboro, Tim Reeves and his wife Cindy of Gulf Breeze, FL, sister, Ruby Hall of Huntsville, AL, grandchildren, Caroline Gibson and her husband Scott of Manchester, Christopher Coleman Reeves of Ludington, MI, Jackson Reeves and Taylor Reeves, both of Gulf Breeze, FL, and Jennie Bowling of Nashville, two great grandchildren, Susan and Ta'Leigha Gibson, brother-in-law, Bill Snow of Novato, CA. Mr. Reeves was a member and ordained deacon of First Baptist Church. He was a Korean War Veteran serving in the U.S. Army as a lieutenant. He was employed by Liberty National Life Insurance Company for 37 years prior to his retirement. Mr. Reeves loved to work, fish, spend time with family and friends and help others anyway he could. He was actively involved in numerous civic, charity, and community leadership roles throughout his life.
