Cody's life was too short when it came to time, but something it was never short of was love. If you knew Cody you loved him, and if he loved you, you could consider yourself lucky. He loved with fierceness and loyalty. He touched so many lives and was many things to many people. He had a dedicated family that spent their lives loving him, and a loyal core of friends who would never leave his side. He was so lucky to find the love of his life and to experience that kind of joy. He was admired by so many for his intensely sharp wit, his darkly wicked sense of humor, and for the way he chose to live his life with no apologies. He spoke his mind, but at the same time could talk with anyone about anything.
His family and friends would like to thank; Dr. Michael Helton for his years of dedicated service and friendship, the nurses, physicians and respiratory therapists at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital, Vanderbilt Life Flight, Rutherford County EMS, and the staff of St. Thomas West ICU. We saw you fighting tirelessly to save our boy's life. You truly went above and beyond and we can never thank you enough. The kindness, compassion and professionalism you showed us will never be forgotten.
Cody was very private and would not want anyone to grieve nor make a fuss over him. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Woodfin Memorial Chapel and a "Celebration of Cody's Life" will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Cody's name to The Tennessee Camp for Diabetic Children in Soddy Daisy, Tennessee or the Rutherford County P.A.W.S. An online guestbook is available for the Gannon family at www.woodfinchapel.com.
