CLAYTON N. SULLIVAN age 86 of Murfreesboro went to be with the Lord Monday, July 7, 2008. A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late John Lewis and Nannie Neeley Sullivan Sr. Funeral services will be 10:00am Thursday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel, with Brother Dean Sisk officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. He is survived by his wife of 62 years: Beatrice Phillips Sullivan, daughter Ann (Greg) Mather, son: Clayton (Barbara) Sullivan both of Christiana, Sisters: Ruth Barrett of Walter Hill, Sara Pruitt of Murfreesboro, Mae Brewer of Murfreesboro, Louise Oden of Smyrna, brother: John L. Sullivan Jr. of Walter Hill, five grandchildren: Lindsay Franklin, Kevin Mather, Kelly Sullivan, Caroline Sullivan and Victoria Sullivan. He is preceded in death by sisters: Virginia Eades, Thelma Herrod, Dot Leverette, and a brother James Sullivan. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a combat infantry man receiving the Purple Heart. He was retired from the Civil Service at Sewart Air Force Base after 27 years and the Rutherford County CO-OP after 20 years. He was a member of Belle Aire Baptist Church.
