Clayton Jackson "C. J." Bryant , age 80 of Rockvale, TN, passed away Sunday, November 29, 2015. A native of Bedford County, he was the son of the late Willie Jackson and Annie Irene Wright. Mr. Bryant was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles Bryant and sisters, Mary Stem, Dot Lufkin, and Ann Woodson.

Mr. Bryant is survived by his wife of 60 years, Thelma Smotherman Bryant; son, Michael Bryant and his wife Phyllis of Rockvale, TN; grandchildren, Justin Bryant and his wife Christin of Rockvale, TN, and Amy Storey and her husband Thomas of Murfreesboro, TN; great-grandchildren; Calee, Ames, and Cohen Bryant; brother, James Bryant and his wife Dot of Shelbyville, TN; sisters, Judy Hooker of Unionville, TN, and Vicky "Janie" Dean and her husband Wiley of Haleyville, AL; several close nephews, nieces and cousins.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral service will be held 10:00 am Wednesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Brothers Darryl Lewis and Marvin Whitworth officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Worthington, Lane Minatra, Melvin Hatcher, Ronnie Smith, Charles William Lamb, John D. Stem, James Bryant, Ted Hyer, Tommy Alderson, Dr. Tony Adams, Leonard Douglas, past and present employees of Bryant Construction Company, Inc., and the men of Crescent Church of Christ.

Mr. Bryant was a retired farmer and Co-Owner and operator of Bryant Construction Company, Inc., in which he loved. He was a member of Crescent Church of Christ since 1970 and former Elder for 30 years.
