Claudine Bogard, of Nashville, peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family on Friday, December 22, 2017.
Claudine is survived by daughters Janet (Terry) Oakley of La Vergne, TN, and Sandra (Bill) Abernathy of Mount Juliet, TN; grandchildren, Gail (Troy) Hillis, Cindy (Jeff) Youngs, Will (Kelsey) Abernathy, and Chris Abernathy; great grandchildren, Shawn and Brady Hillis, and Allison and Paisley Youngs; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Gail Vernon Bogard; parents, Vera (Fielder) Breece and Robert Samuel (Sam) Breece; Sisters, Josephine (Breece) Roe and Sammye (Breece) Baird; brothers, Dave (D.M.) Breece and Robert Neil Breece.
Claudine was born on July 28, 1923 in Little Lot, Tennessee. She married Gail Vernon Bogard, the love of her life, in 1946. The couple had two daughters together, Janet and Sandra. After her husband passed away in 1966, she raised them on her own.
Claudine retired from Graham Paper Company after serving over 25 years as their office manager. After she retired, she worked for Babies R Us for more than a decade.
Claudine was dedicated to her family and always encouraged her children and grandchildren to pursue their dreams. Her daughters remember her as always being there for them. She was strong, independent, and always put her family first.
Claudine was a dedicated member of Southminster Presbyterian Church in Nashville. She lived a life of service and was passionate about taking care of others during times of need.
Visitation will be 4-8PM on Tuesday, December 26th and 10-11AM on Wednesday, December 27th Funeral service will be at 11AM on Wednesday, December 27th, officiated by Rev. Evelyn Graham. Graveside service will be 2PM at Union Cemetery in Dickson, TN. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to:

The family would like to thank the staff at Alive Hospice for their dedication and support, which allowed us to bring our mother/grandmother home to care for her during her final days.
