Claude Thomas Adams, age 81, of Murfreesboro, TN, died Wednesday December 25, 2013. A native of Murfreesboro, TN, he was the son of the late John Elam and Martha Isabell Marlin Adams. Mr. Adams was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Mildred Basham Adams who died in April of this year, brothers, Marlin and Sam Adams, sisters, Martha Smotherman, Christine Richardson, and Corrine Robinson. Mr. Adams is survived by his daughters, Valerie Adams Swenfurth , her husband John and their son Kyle all of Palm Harbor, FL, Claudia Adams McDaniel, her husband Jeff, and their children, Rachel McDaniel Rapier and her husband Britton, and Corey McDaniel all of Warner Robins, GA; sister, Sara Lufkin and her husband Robert of Murfreesboro, TN; sisters-in-law, Pat Adams and May Belle Basham both of Murfreesboro, TN; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 2:30 PM Saturday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Brother Rick Duggin officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Mr. Adams was a member of Westvue Church of Christ, a1952 graduate of Kittrell High School, and served in the US Navy from 1953 to 1955. He was a 1959 graduate of MTSU and retired from the Civil Service with the United States government after 30 years of service. Mr. Adams was a devout Christian, an avid gardener, accomplished carpenter, and loving husband, Father, and Grandfather.
