Clara Elizabeth Carson Gilbert age 93 of Murfreesboro, passed away Tuesday March 3, 2015. A native of Whitwell, Tennessee she was the daughter of the late Fred and Nell Scruggs Carson. She is also preceded in death by her husband Carl Gilbert and her sister, Mary Lewis Thomas. Mrs. Gilbert is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Stephen Carl and Linda Gilbert, daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Steven Fisher, all of Murfreesboro, grandchildren, Brian Gilbert, Cherry (David) Ross, Matthew (Lindsay) Fisher, and Chad Fisher, and four great-grandchildren Reagan Rebecca Ross, Makenzie Margaret Ross, Braden Waymon Ross, and Cali Ann Fisher. Mrs. Gilbert was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and a member of The Eastern Star. Visitation will be 12:00 noon Friday until time of service at 2:00pm at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Her grandson Brian Gilbert and Dr. Jim Clardy will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
