Christopher Dennis Frye

Mr. Christopher Dennis Frye, age 71, of Rockvale, TN, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2026. Born in Logan, West Virginia, he was son to the late James and Thelma Frye. He is also preceded in death by his siblings; Dale Frye, Virginia Lingrell, Vivian Sanders, John Frye, and Martha Sylvester.

Chris is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Lydia Frye; children, Crystal (Lance Flaskerud) Rasmussen, Heather (Matt) Ryan, Matt (Anna) Frye; grandchildren, Ciarra (Colton) Frizzell, Karina Hicks, Autumn Hicks, Hunter (Lauren) McClanahan, Raegan Frye, and Reese Frye; great-grandchildren, Rylan Hicks, Rune Frizzell, and Greyson McClanahan; siblings, Jim (Deva) Frye, Allena Kimmell, and Shirley (Roy) Davis, along with many nieces and nephews.

Chris worked for Crane Construction, a career that gave him the opportunity to travel throughout the United States—something he truly enjoyed. He had a deep love for the outdoors and especially cherished camping and horseback riding with his family. To celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary, Chris and Lydia spent several days exploring the western United States, including visits to Nebraska and Wyoming.

Chris will be remembered as someone who could fix just about anything. He had a charismatic personality, a wonderful sense of humor, and a laugh so contagious it brought joy to everyone around him.

Visitation with the family will be at Woodfin Memorial Chapel on Sunday, August 2, 2026 from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM. Memorial Service will be at Woodfin Memorial Chapel on Sunday at 4:00 PM.
