Christine Powell Smallin, of Murfreesboro, TN died April 1, 2014. She was a native of Bedford County and daughter of the late Buford Dorris and Edna Lera Smith Powell. Funeral services will be 12:00 Noon Friday at Walter Hill Church of Christ. Brother Paul Norwood and Bill Cooper will officiate. Visitation will be Friday from 10:00 AM until time of services at Walter Hill Church of Christ. Burial will be at 2:30 PM Friday at Willow Mount Cemetery in Shelbyville, TN. Mrs. Smallin is survived by a brother, Wayne Powell of Murfreesboro, TN, and a sister, Nelle Mahaffey of Wartrace, TN. She was also survived by many friends, two special one's, Louise Tomberlain and Jan J. Quinton who cared for her in her time sickness. Mrs. Smallin was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Day Smallin who died in 1977. She was a member of Walter Hill Church of Christ and was a surgical nurse for many years.
