Christine Overcast, age 88, passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2014. She was a native of Davidson County and the daughter of the late Robert L. and Grace Kellum Hunter. She was also preceded in death by her husband, J. M. Overcast and her sister, Mary Elizabeth Hunter Stroud. Graveside service will be 2:00pm Thursday at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Rev. Marshall Gupton will officiate. Mrs. Overcast is survived by her daughter, Grace O. Bates of Murfreesboro and grandson, John W. Bates. Mrs. Overcast was a graduate of Antioch High School and Nashville Business College. She was a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church and a billing specialist with Nashville Electric Service until her retirement. Memorials may be made to Northminster Presbyterian Church general fund or to the LaVergne Public Library in her memory.
