Christine Gentry, age 85 of Murfreesboro, TN passed away July 2nd, 2013 peacefully. Born in Smoot, West Virginia on July 26, 1927, Christine is preceded in death by her husband, Linnell Gentry who passed away in 2000. Survived by her children son, Mike Gentry of Murfreesboro, TN, daughter Sally Gentry-Hill(Jack Hill) of Nashville, TN, grandson Brad Gentry of Murfreesboro, TN, and great grandson Tallon Gentry of Smithville, TN. She is also survived by her sister, Billie Ann Sanford of Rainelle, West Virginia. She was the daughter of the late William and Fannie Anderson. Christine is an alumnus of West Virginia Wesleyan College class of 1949. She started her career as a home economics teacher in Greenbrier County West Virginia. She became a homemaker in 1952 to start her family. Christine was a volunteer for Middle TN Medical Center for over 30 years in the admitting dept. Christine was a member of First United Methodist Church in Murfreesboro, TN since 1966. Her family gives a heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Adams Place assisting living, rehab and long term care unit for their care, compassion and love. The family sends a special thanks to her care giver Jane Lowe who has helped and been with her since 2010. Christine loved gardening; sewing and watching her roses bloom annually. She was a loving lady and would rather give than receive. Christine will be missed by everyone who knew her well. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00AM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Pastors Thad Austin and Ann Benson officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends of the family will serve as pallbearers.
