Christine Lamberth Covington age 94 formerly of LaVergne, TN, died Tuesday April 24, 2012 in Nebo, NC. A native of Sumner County, she was the daughter of the late Leonard Henry and Birdie Mai Walker Lamberth. Mrs. Covington was also preceded in death by her husband, William Raymer Covington who died in 1999 and by five brothers, four sisters and two grandchildren. Mrs. Covington is survived by a son and daughter in law, Jerry W. and Janet Covington of LaVergne, TN; daughter and son in law, Shelia and Clyde Robinson of Nebo, NC; sister, Emma Ray of Portland,TN; seven grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter. The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Friday at Woodfin Funeral Chapel, Smyrna, with Rev. Milton Hicks officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with grandsons and family serving as pallbearers. Mrs. Covington was a member of LaVergne First Baptist and was retired from Gensco.
