Christine Brown, age 92 of the Gum Community died Monday. She was a native of Rutherford County and the daughter of the late Ernest and Bertha McCrary Hughes. She was also preceded by her husband Clifton Brown who died in 1977. Mrs. Brown is survived by a daughter, Pam Davenport and her husband Billy of Murfreesboro; grandsons, Philip Davenport and his wife Eve of Murfreesboro and Mark Davenport and his wife Buffy of Lascassas; seven great grandchildren, Katie, Emily, Bailey, Sydney, Samuel, Cliff, and Benton Davenport. Mrs. Brown was a lifelong member of the Cedar Grove United Methodist Church. She had worked as a cook at Buchanan Elementary and a sales clerk at McClellan's five and dime store on the public square in Murfreesboro. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00pm at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be 2:30pm Wednesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Rev. Roger Brown and Rev.
