CHRIS ELLIS SAVAGE, age 54 of Murfreesboro died Oct. 7, 2009 at home. Mr. Savage was a native of Seattle, WA and son of the late David and Dorothy Hamilton Savage. Memorial services will be held Saturday Oct. 17, 2009 at 10:00 am at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Mr. Savage was a graduate of the University of Washington. He was a director of engineering at Nissan Motor Manufacturing for 27 years. He was also automotive engineer at 3M for 2 years and automotive engineer at Ford Motor Co. for 5 years. Mr. Savage was a United Way board member, a Paul Harris Fellow, a Rotary Andy, a Leadership Rutherford graduate, a supporter of Linebaugh Public Library System, the Boys and Girls Club, Domestic Violence, the Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, Compassion International, Rutherford Books from Birth, Sloan Kettering Memorial Hospital, MTMC, and many other organizations. He was also an avid whitewater kayaker and alpine skier. Mr. Savage is survived by his wife, Barbara Ford. In addition to his parents, Mr. Savage was preceded in death by two brothers, Tim and Scott Savage. Visitation will be Friday Oct. 16 from 5:00 till 7:00 pm at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
