Obituary

Charles Wilburn Westbrooks age 92 of Murfreesboro, passed away Friday October 11, 2013. A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Fredrick Lester and Agatha Smotherman Westbrooks. He is also preceded in death by brother; Johnny Westbrooks, and three sisters; Sara Holden, Virginia Brantley, and Juanita Lamb. Funeral service will be 10:00am Tuesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Brother Wayne Lankford officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Mr. Westbrooks is survived by his wife of 64 years; Mary Louise Sledge Westbrooks, his sons; William Philip Westbrooks and his wife Linda of Murfreesboro, Andrew Lee Westbrooks and his wife Ping of Smyrna, Charles Lester Westbrooks and his wife Deborah Ann of Daytona Beach,Florida, six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and his sister; Mary Smith and her husband Marion of Eagleville. Mr. Westbrooks was a member of East Main Street Church of Christ, was the Proprietor of Westbrooks Oil Company and a World War II Veteran. Visitation will be 4:00 until 8:00pm Monday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers; memorials may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675.
