Charles W. Vance, age 86 of Smyrna died November 3, 2018. He was a native of Cannon County and was preceded in death by his wife Martha Vance; son, Charles "Bill" Vance, Jr.; parents, Otis and Mai Tenpenny Vance. Mr. Vance was former Chief of Police for the city of Smyrna.

He is survived by his daughter,  Connie Smith and husband Brad of Murfreesboro; son, Richard Alan Vance of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Wendy Petro of Murfreesboro, Alysia Pitts and husband Brian of Woodbury, Jeff Vance of Smyrna; great-grandchildren, Kaila, Cody, Hannah, Gunter; sister, Carlene Alexander of Lascassas.

The family would like to extend a special thank you for the love and devotion by Jennifer Nelson.

Visitation will be at 12Noon on Tuesday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. Funeral service will be 2PM Tuesday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. Brian Pitts will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens www.woodfinchapel.com
