Charles Franklin Travis Sr., age 86, of Smyrna, died Sunday November, 1, 2009. A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Fredrick and Dossie (Burgette) Travis. Services will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday at Woodfin Chapel Smyrna with Brother Marshall Gupton officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Internment will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Mr. Travis is survived by his two daughters and sons in law; Tanya and Howard Brindley of Smyrna and Teresa and Horace Bass of Nashville; four grandchildren, Lance and Shane Brindley of Smyrna and Chas Travis and Phillip Bass of Murfreesboro; and seven great grandchildren. Mr. Travis is preceded in death by his wife June Travis, his son Frank Travis Jr., his brother Don Travis and his sister Patty Lewinthal. Mr. Travis was a member of Glencliff United Methodist Church and was a retired business owner of Bulbs and Balace by Travis. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M.
