Charles Leon Parks, age 73, of Murfreesboro, died Sunday, August 21, 2011. He was a native of Franklin County, TN and the son of the late Russell A. and Winnie M. May Parks. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Betty Owens Ray. Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Wednesday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. Glenn Garner will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Carolyn Parks of Murfreesboro, son, Michael Parks of Murfreesboro, daughters, Lisa Parks of IN, Kim (James) Johnson of Smyrna, Kristi (Greg) Trimble of Rineyville, KY, Kelly (Danny) Sipes of Rineyville, KY, Brittany (TJ Cane) Parks of Murfreesboro, sisters, Dot Sons of Smyrna, Gail (Larry) Eggleston of Tullahoma, grandchildren, Colton Trimble, Kaitlyn Sipes, Tyler Sipes, Brenda Vaughn, Adalyn Cane, mother-in-law, Beatrice Brinkley, brothers-in-law, Robert (Rita) Brinkley of Shelbyville, Troy Brinkley of Smyrna, several nieces, nephews, and other close family and friends. Mr. Parks was a US Navy veteran and retired from Dillard Paving Company as a supervisor. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00pm Tuesday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. 615-459-3254.
