Charles Edward Newman, Sr. age 75, of Murfreesboro died November 12, 2015. Mr. Newman was a native of Murfreesboro and was the son of the late Dorris and Addie Mears Newman. He was also preceded in death by his wife Malinda Patty Newman who died in 2003. Graveside services will be 1:30pm Monday at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be 11:00am to 1:00pm Monday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Bro. Tony Holt will officiate. Mr. Newman is survived by a son, Charles E. Newman, Jr. of LaVergne; a daughter, Laura N. Newman of Nashville; their mother, Martha Jo Brandon Newman of Murfreesboro; and a sister, Dorothy Shea of Murfreesboro. Mr. Newman was a 1958 graduate of Murfreesboro Central High School and was a retired Executive Vice President of Nashville City Bank. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
