Charles Ralph Loyd, age 82, died May 15, 2016. Mr. Loyd was a native of Christiana. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carole McKown Loyd, who died in 1986, a daughter, Laura Morgan, two brothers, Walter Loyd and Spencer Loyd. He was a son of the late Walter and Sarah Lovvorn Loyd, Sr.

Mr. Loyd was the owner of Loyd's Excavating and was a retired employee of the State of Tennessee. He served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean War.

Funeral services will be at 6:00pm Wednesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Rev. Steve Austin will officiate. Visitation will be 4:00pm until 6:00pm Wednesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.

Mr. Loyd is survived by his son, Chuck Loyd; daughter, Lisa Bowker and her husband Kirk all of Murfreesboro; two grandchildren, Kerri Henderson of Murfreesboro and Josh Leonard and his wife Brittney of Eagleville, TN; two great-grandchildren, Caroline and Corbin; brothers, Ray Loyd and Finis Loyd; and sisters, Jane Sullivan and Amy Loyd all of Murfreesboro, TN.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association in memory of Mr. Loyd.
