Obituary

Charles Aaron Lewter, age 76 of Murfreesboro, died Sunday, August 23, 2015. Born in Lincoln County, a son of the late Marvin and Edna Lewter, he was preceded by a brother, Thomas Lewter, and a sister, Betty Horne. Survivors include daughter, Stephanie Lewter (Jennifer McMurray); brother, Robert (Doris) Lewter; sisters, Mary Ellen (David) Hatcher, Verna Canto, Pamela Lewter; and a host of beloved nieces and nephews. Mr. Lewter was a member of First United Methodist Church, Murfreesboro and a U.S. Army Veteran. He graduated Blanche High School in Lincoln County and attended MTSU. He was a 1960 graduate of UT Knoxville and a member of Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity. He took great pride in his 25 year career with the Highway Users Federation, an organization that influenced legislation and advocated for highway safety nationwide. Visitation with the family will be Friday from 1:00pm until the time of memorial services beginning at 3:00pm at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Rev. Michael O'Bannon will officiate.
