Charles "Charley" M. Jacobs, age 82, of Walter Hill, died Saturday, January 10, 2015. Mr. Jacobs was a native of Rutherford County and was son of the late Owen and Edna Lester Jacobs. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Norma Ruth "Nautie" Johns Jacobs who died in 2009. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Jacobs and his wife Dot; and daughter-in-law, Betty Ruth Jacobs. Funeral services will be at 10:30AM Wednesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Rev. Louis Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers. Mr. Jacobs is survived by two sons, Bobby Jacobs and his wife Gayle of Lebanon and Billy Jacobs of Walter Hill and daughter-in-law Martha Jacobs of Smyrna; sister, Patsy Hilliard of Walter Hill; sister-in-law, Freida Eades of Walter Hill; two granddaughters, Crissy Dales and her husband Danny of Murfreesboro and Casey Rhinehart and her husband Will of Walter Hill; grandson, Lee Jacobs and his wife Casey of Manchester; and six great grandchildren, Caylee, Lane, Danielle, Macie, Megan, and Caleb. Mr. Jacobs was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. He was a 1950 graduate of Walter Hill High School. Mr. Jacobs was a farmer and a retired machinist with Samsonite. He was an active supporter and coach in the Walter Hill Community Softball League for many years. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00PM to 8:00PM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
