CHARLES RICHARD HIGDON age 71 of Lavergne, TN, died Thursday March 17, 2011. A native of Antioch, TN, he was a life long resident of Lavergne and the son of the late Luther Harold and Bessie Irene Briley Higdon. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Rena Mason, Gertrude Vaughn and Louise Painter and two brothers, Harvey Hickman Higdon and Dean Haskell Higdon. Mr. Higdon is survived by his wife of 51 years, Bertie Lee Lennard Higdon; sons, Charles R. Higdon, Jr. and Jeffrey W. Higdon of Lavergne, TN; daughter, Janice Marie Higdon Templeton and husband Jeff of Murfreesboro, TN; sisters, Marie Vaughn of Antioch, TN and Lois Conley of Sacramento, CA; granddaughters, Lauren Elizabeth Templeton of Murfreesboro, TN and Isabella Paige Higdon and her sister, Chole Marie Busby both of Lavergne, TN; grandson Jeffery Bubba Templeton and great granddaughter Kinlee Reese Templeton both of Murfreesboro, TN Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday at Lavergne Church of Christ with Brother Jon Gary Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with Ricky Higdon, Greg Vaughn, Harvey Higdon, Randy Mason, Jeff Bubba Templeton, Chance Swanson, Jeffery Templeton and Harold Vaughn serving as pallbearers. Mr. Higdon was a member of Lavergne Church of Christ, a US Army veteran, and a printer for 35 years retiring from Baird Ward/ Arcata/ Quebecor Printing Company.
