Charles Jeffrey Goostree, age 56 of Smyrna died Sunday, May 24, 2015 after a brief battle with cancer. He was a native of Nashville and was preceded in death by his father, Charles Henry Goostree, and brother, Keith Goostree. Mr. Goostree was a member of the Baptist Church and attended New Vision Baptist in Murfreesboro. Formerly at Coca-Cola Consolidated for 21 years, he began his career as a route driver and later served as a Branch Manager. His past 12 years have been in the employment of Reinhart Food Company. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Kellye Goostree; children, Whitney Burton and husband Chris of Murfreesboro, Wyatt Goostree of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Kadence and Karys Goostree, Ellie-Kate and Ari Burton; mother, Pauline Cuffman Kilmon of Madison; brother, Larry Goostree of Fairview. Mr. Goostree was committed to his family and his work. He gave the best of himself in the service and interests of others. His professional success and his personal fulfillment were influenced by his determination to build relationships through actions that supported and encouraged those whom he worked with and loved. Mr. Goostree's funeral service will be 3:00 PM Friday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel in Murfreesboro. Phillip Robinson will officiate and family will receive visitors from 1:00-3:00 before the service.
