Charles Houston Francis, age 79, of Murfreesboro passed away on Friday, October 6, 2017. He was a native of Wilson County and the son of the late James Houston and Nina Lee Fite Francis. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Gladys Jones, Ray Francis and Roy Francis.

Funeral service will be 1:00pm Monday, October 9, 2017 at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Teb Batey will officiate. Interment to follow in Evergreen Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ruby Crowder Francis, daughter, Arlene Rainey and her husband Bill of Cane Ridge, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mr. Francis was a member of Prosperity Baptist Church. He was a 1959 graduate of Middle Tennessee State College and had served in the US Army. He was employed at Singer for 30 years before his retirement as Logistics Manager and spent 7 years at S and W Manufacturing in Smithville as the Purchasing Manager.
