Obituary

Charles "Charlie" Emerson Campbell, age 81, of Smyrna, went to Heaven Monday, November 17, 2014. A native of Wilmington, Delaware, he was preceded in death by his father and step-mother, Gove and Anne Campbell and mother and step-father, Lena and Clarence Miller. A graveside service will be held on Thursday at 11:00AM at Roselawn Memorial Garden with military honors. Rev. Marshall Gupton will officiate. Mr. Campbell is survived by his wife of 46 years, Betty Winters Campbell; sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Burnette, Shirley Winters, and Mary Winters; nephews and nieces, Kevin and Gena Winters and Diane and Mike Patterson, and Debbie and David Neese; along with many great and great-great nieces and nephews. Charlie was a member of Trinity Christian Church, Sam Davis Masonic Lodge #661 F&AM; Sam Davis Chapter 290 Order of the Eastern Star; A life-time member of the VFW; and member of the Middle Tennessee Locksmiths. Charlie served in the National Guard, Army and retired from the United States Air Force. He was a Vietnam War veteran. Charlie loved trains and after retiring from locksmithing he built a model railroad layout in his shop. He also enjoyed eating out at two of his favorite restaurants, IHOP and Cracker Barrel where he was often found eating late at night. Memorials in memory of Mr. Campbell may be made to Trinity Christian Church building fund at 1429 Lee Victory Parkway in Smyrna, TN 37167 or to PAWS at 285 John R. Rice Blvd Murfreesboro, TN 37129. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00PM to 6:00PM at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna. A masonic memorial service will take place at 6:00PM following the visitation.
