CHARLES LAWRENCE BARRETT, JR. age 84, passed from this life Saturday July 12, 2008 at his home in Sanbyrn Hall. A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Charles L. and Betty Heath Barrett, Sr. Funeral service will be 10:00AM Tuesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Charles H. Davis and Wayne Belt will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Mr. Barrett is survived by his wife of 58 years, Beatrice Bowman Barrett, sons and daughters in law, Charles L. and Joan Barrett, III of Killen, Ala., William Dale and Sandi Barrett of Murfreesboro, TN, daughters and sons in law, Kathy and Bobby Hockett of Christiana, TN, and Mendy and Dan Samford of St. Joseph, MO. 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Mr. Barrett was a member of North Boulevard Church of Christ. He was former owner and operator of Barrett Backhoe Service and retired from Consolidated Utility District in 1988. Mr. Barrett was preceded in death by brother, Ellis Barrett, sisters, Hazel Barrett and Mazlee Davis, half brother, Joe Harrell and half sister, Pearlie Lane. Pallbearers will be Twana Hockett, Jack Davis, Jeffery and Billy Barrett, B.J. Hockett, Kody and Kameron Barrett.
