Obituary

Charles Curtiss Barrett, age 94, of Murfreesboro, died Monday, December 23, 2024. He was a native of Rutherford County and was preceded in death by his parents, George Barrett, Sr. and Minnie Harris Barrett; sisters, Roberta Blackwelder and Mary Spicer; brother, George Barrett, Jr., and his granddaughter, Leslie Seaton.

Mr. Barrett was a member of Kingwood Church of Christ since 1959 and was a veteran of the United States Army serving in Panama. He retired from Bellsouth.

Mr. Barrett is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 67 years, Loura Jones Barrett; daughters Debi Harper and husband Jim, Cindy Seaton and husband Blake; grandchildren Amy Nolen and husband Brandon, Glenn Hollandsworth and wife Andrea; great-grandchildren Gracie Bell Nolen, Barrett Hollandsworth, and Millie Hollandsworth; and sister Judy Harris.

He enjoyed woodworking, clock building and repair, and appreciating the beauty in nature. He appreciated a rainy day as much as a beautiful sunset. Analytical by nature, he was a kind and gentle soul. The world is inexplicably diminished in his absence. He will be greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Kingwood Church of Christ.

Visitation will be on Saturday, December 28th, from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with funeral service at 11:00 AM. Glenn Hollandsworth and Doug Hutchins will officiate.  Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Garden. www.woodfinchapel.com
