CHARLENE JORDAN BARRETT, age 76 of Smyrna died Saturday September 12, 2009. She was a native of Wilson County and was preceded in death by her parents, Powell and Nelle Ingram Jordan; sisters, Thelma Edwards, Sarah Martin and granddaughter, Nicole Cooper. Mrs. Barrett was a member of Giles Creek Baptist Church and a 1952 graduate of Wilson County High School. She was retired from City of LaVergne Water Department. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna with Bro. Terry Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Mullins Hill Cemetery. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Leslie Barrett; children, Walter T. Richards, Jr., Joan Barrett Anderson, Sam Allen (Lynette) Barrett all of Smyrna; grandchildren, Timothy (Leslie) Barrett, Eric Trenton Barrett and four other grandchildren; great-grandchildren, Ashton, Benton, Kelton Barrett.
