Obituary

CECIL (CES) DODSON age 75 of Murfreesboro, died January 6, 2009. He came to Middle Tennessee with the Corps of Engineers in 1975 during an extensive career as a dam builder. His expertise as a geologist was in geo- mechanics. He was born in Sturgis, SD on November 26, 1933 and graduated from the University of South Dakota in 1951. His military service was in the Presidential Honor Guard in Washington, DC from 1956-1958, after which he returned to SD to begin his lifelong career in the Corps. His work included dam building on the Oahe in SD, to work on the Sea Level Canal Study in Panama from 1966-1968. His work in Middle Tennessee included work with the Tennessee Tom Bigby Waterway and Big South Fork Recreational area. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn, of 51 years, and three children: Riess Dodson of FL, Paul Dodson of N.Y., and daughter: Hope (and her husband Erick Prock) of St. Louis, and three grandchildren, Carmen and Truman Binder and Olivia Dodson. We will love and miss him.
