Services for Catherine Fletcher Smith, 82, who died Saturday, April 21, 2012 in Birmingham, Alabama will be Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at 11:00 AM at The First Presbyterian Church, with Rev. John Hinkle officiating. Burial will be in Evergeen Cemetery. A native of Murfreesboro, she was the daughter of J.W. Fletcher, Jr. and Rebecca Miles Fletcher. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, C. Ray Smith, Jr., and a grandson, Temple Kirkpatrick Smith, Jr. She is survived by four children, C. Ray Smith, III (Suzanne) of Birmingham, AL, James Fletcher Smith (Lori) of Birmingham, AL, Margaret Rebecca Smith Morrison (Ron) of Geneva, IL, and Temple Kirkpatrick Smith (Kim) of Cullman, AL; ten grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and a sister, Nancy Fletcher Christiansen of Murfreesboro. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church where she served as an Elder of the Church and taught Sunday School to high school students for many years. She was also a member of the DAR and DAC. Pallbearers will be grandsons, James Fletcher Smith, Jr., Miles Parker Smith, Spencer Webb Smith, William Miles Smith, William Smith Morrison, and Matthew James Morrison.
