Carolyne
Taylor
June 30, 1931 – September 22, 2025
Carolyne K. Taylor "Gran", age 94 of Smyrna, Tennessee earned her heavenly wings on September 22, 2025. She was a faithful member of Stones River Baptist Church since 1958 which made her the longest standing member until her passing.
She taught the Beginner Sunday School class of four- and five-year-olds for over 60 years. This included teaching her three daughters, four grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren, as well as hundreds of other children. She loved them all!
Carolyne was a proud military wife and homemaker for her husband Denny for close to 66 years until his passing in 2016.
She loved her family and was the happiest when she was cooking for them and the house was full of kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. She would just stand back, smile and say to Denny "Look what we created!"
Preceded in death by parents, James R Kendrick and Elnora Kendrick Lowry. She was also preceded in death by husband, Denison Taylor; a daughter, Linda Brumley; and brothers, W.C. Kendrick and Johnny Kendrick.
Survivors include her daughters Debby (Joe) Gill and Cheryl Taylor; a sister in law, Molly Kendrick, son in law, David Brumley; grandchildren, Kelly (Warren) Garner, Kyle Gill, Nora (Corbin) Powell, James (Victoria) Brumley; great grandchildren, Ashton, GC, Carolyne, Brinlee, Taylor, Georgia, Eli, AJ, Chloe; and a host of other loving family and friends.
Visitation with the Taylor family will be Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Stones River Baptist Church from 11:00am until the time of funeral services beginning at 2:00pm with Bro. Tony Hinton officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with Kyle Gill, Corbin Powell, James Brumley, Warren Garner, Ashton Gill, Tim Quick, Chad Mcduffee serving as pallbearers. Joe Gill, David Brumley, and Joey Kendrick will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family would like to especially thank Makenna for the loving care she gave Gran over the last several months. Memorials in memory of Mrs. Taylor may be made to the children's ministry of Stones River Baptist Church, 361 Sam Ridley Pkwy East, Smyrna, TN 37167.
