Carolyn G. Vernier, age 86 of Murfreesboro, died Tuesday at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital. She was a native of Madisonville, Kentucky and a daughter of the late Elmer Dee Gray and Tina Mae Oakley Gray.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Milton C. Vernier, Jr.; a daughter, Cindy Knight and husband Ronnie of Rockvale; a son, Greg Vernier and wife Kim of Murfreesboro; three grandchildren, Jon Knight and wife Brittany, and Jennifer Knight, all of Rockvale, Alexis Vernier of Murfreesboro; three great-grandchildren, Jace, Owen, and Hudson; and sisters, Jane Curneal, Paula Hunter, and Nancy Francis.

She was a member of the Baptist faith and worked as an Insurance Underwriter prior to her retirement.

Entombment of Carolyn's cremated remains will take place at a later date under the direction of Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
