Carolyn
Moore
November 17, 1950 – September 4, 2025
Carolyn Moore, a beloved mother, aunt, sister and friend, passed away on September 4, 2025, at the age of 74. She was a native of Rutherford County, Tennessee, where she developed a lifelong love of family, community, and the traditions of Southern life. She was the daughter of the late, Robert and Betty Irene Brown George and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
Carolyn's warmth, kindness, and generosity touched everyone she met. She was known for her ability to make a house feel like a home, her thoughtful words, and her unwavering support for those she loved. Her family (including Bo) was the center of her world, and she created a legacy of love and care that will live on through her son, Darrell, and all who were fortunate to know her.
She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her laughter, and the countless ways she gave of herself to others, whether through a warm meal, a listening ear, or her steady presence in difficult times. She was known for finding the joy in the simplest of things.
Though sad and grief stricken, the family finds peace knowing she is now walking the streets of heaven hand in hand with Howard and Shawn.
Carolyn is survived by her son, Darrell Moore and his partner Maureen Mellina, sister-in law Frances Carroll and husband Johnny Carroll, her beloved niece Jennie Howse whom she viewed as a daughter and several adored nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Howard Moore and son, Shawn Moore, her brother, Bobby George and her beautiful sister, Barbara Alexander.
Visitation with the family will be Thursday, September 11, 2025, from 3:00-7:00 PM at Woodfin Chapel, 1488 Lascassas Pike, Murfreesboro. Funeral service will be held on Friday September 12, 2025, at 11:00 AM and the burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Murfreesboro.
Friends and family are invited to attend and share memories of the remarkable woman she was.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Immanuel Baptist Church and an online guestbook is available for the Moore family at www.woodfinchapel.com.
Her love will remain a guiding light to all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed.
