Carolyn Lea McGowen, age 63, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2022. She was the daughter of the late Fred Wayne and Audie Faye Lynch McGowen.

She is survived by her son, Gabriel "Gabe" Stusse; sister, Kathy Downs and her husband Mike; brothers, Mike McGowen and his wife Kim, David McGowen and his wife Denise; nieces, nephews, and many other family and friends.

Carolyn had a career in law enforcement before becoming a dedicated educator in Bedford County for many years. She was also a devoted and loving mother, sister, and friend. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Visitation with the family will be Friday, September 2, 2022 from 12:00-2:00 PM at Woodfin Chapel Smyrna with funeral service following at 2:00 PM. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
