Carolyn "Granny" Humphrey, age 65, of Beech Grove, TN went to be with the lord, Sunday, May 11, 2014. A native of Gallatin, TN she was the daughter of the late Joe Cephus and Lorraine Key Davenport. She is also preceded in death by her sister, Gladys Elgin and brothers, Carl Davenport and Bud and Wendell McQuistion. A memorial service will be held Thursday at 7:00PM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Brother Kenneth Hale will officiate. Mrs. Humphrey is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Michael "Mike" Humphrey; daughter, Aletha Humphrey and her husband Rusty of Shelbyville; son, Jamie Brewer of FL; grandchildren, Richard Humphrey of Wartrace, Rebecca Humphrey of IA, Anthony Humphrey of Shelbyville, and James Brewer and Abigail Brewer both of Winter Springs, FL; great-grandchild, Trinity Humphrey; brothers, Mason Davenport and Charles McQuistion; sisters, Joann Willis, Judy Brothers and her husband Larry, and Katherine Gammons; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Humphrey was a member of Gethsemane House of Prayer. Along with being a loving wife she was also a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. Mrs. Humphrey cherished her dogs, loved to fish and always enjoyed letting Mike have fun. Memorials in memory of Mrs. Humphrey may be made to Gethsemane House of Prayer at 6919 Manchester Pike, Murfreesboro, TN 37127. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00PM until the service time at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
