Carolyn Lee Hix ONeal, age 69, passed away Wednesday, August 1, 2012. A native of Altavista, VA she spent most of her life in Rutherford County, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Jess James Cox and Videll Alma Oakes Cox. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Smith ONeal; her sister, Frances Johnson; her brother, James Dickie Hagood; and her nephew, Jason Hagood. Funeral services will be held Monday at 1:00PM at Woodfin Funeral Chapel in Smyrna. Reverend Todd Teller will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will begin two hours prior to the service. Mrs. ONeal is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Cheryl Hix of Shelbyville; grandson and his fianc, Jeremy Hix and Jacqueline Moore of Nashville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Margaret and Robert Bud Raikes of Smyrna and Gerry and Steve Waldron of Murfreesboro; brother and sister-in-law, Jesse Deddie and Debbie Hagood of Smyrna; extended family, Angie and Thomas Coop, Jason and Chasity Porter, and David and Tony Jones; special friend and niece, Patricia Johnson along with many other loving nieces and nephews. Mrs. ONeal was of the Baptist faith and was a factory worker with quality industries. Jeremy Hix, Terry Fann, Robert Buehler, Drew Fann, Chase Fann and Ben Parsley will serve as pallbearers.
