The world lost kindness personified on Tuesday, January 20, with the passing of Carolyn J. Green, age 79 of Murfreesboro. She was a graduate of Antioch High School and attended Middle Tennessee State University. She worked in various capacities during her life, but her two greatest careers were raising her children and working as the community relations director at Mur-ci Homes of Antioch. She joined Mur-ci Homes in 1985 and was instrumental with the opening of the new facility in 1993. Carolyn's ability to lead and serve made her a valuable asset to those in need, and a well-respected member of the team at Mur-ci Homes. Carolyn Loved spending time with her family, cooking, shopping, and watching sports. Her quick wit, beautiful smile, and sense of humor brightened the lives of those around her. Her loving and generous ways and giving spirit brought joy to many. To say she will be missed would be an understatement. Welcoming her into heaven are her parents, Horton and Sammie Jennings; brothers, Horton, Jr. and Neal, and sisters, Charlotte and Billie. Carolyn was and always will be loved by her husband of 60 years, Harry; a son Stephen Green, a daughter, Stephanie Brackman and her fiancé Jack Stevens; adopted daughter, Robin Maddox; her adoring grandchildren, Daniel, Robert, William, and Veronica; her siblings Betty Lee and Sue Rafalowski, and cherished by her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Visitation will be from 3:00 until 7:00pm Thursday and again from 10:00am until the time of funeral services beginning at 11:00am Friday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Dr. John Shepherd officiating.
