Carole Jeanette Lee Downs, age 68, passed away Friday February 20, 2015. A native of Shelbyville, TN, she was the daughter of the late Robert E. Lee and Ima Perry Lee Kirk. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Miller Downs, Sr. who died in 2009 and by a brother, Nolan Wade Lee. Mrs. Downs is survived by her son, John Miller Downs, Jr., and his wife Deena; daughter, Lisa Gossage, and her husband George; two grandchildren, Rachel Deml, and her husband Mark, and Amanda Siters, and her husband Kevin; five great-grandsons, Elijah, Knox, and Henry Deml, and Seth and Jake Siters all of Murfreesboro, TN Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Graveside service will be 2:00 PM Monday at Jernigan Cemetery with Mark Deml officiating. Burial will follow in the Jernigan Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Mrs. Downs was a member of Westvue Church of Christ and was a retired Insurance Clerk in the Ophthalmology Department for Dr. Joseph Bailey and Murfreesboro Medical Clinic.
